Question 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?

I have conducted my audience feedback through a variety of ways. After I have finished the final cut of my video, I have collected feedback by asking other students in my class to fill in surveys, I also posted the video onto my personal social networking site, Facebook, and also I created a survey on www.surveymonkey.com the surveys can be seen here:
The reason I have chosen to use these methods of research, as I have chosen to gain feedback from a specific demographic, which is Teenagers/Young Adults between the age of 16-20, as I have created the video specifically for that market.

I have always gained feedback throughout the construction process in both of my productions, not just from other students in my class but also from my lecturers, an example of feedback that I have is during the construction of my music video, I have mentioned in my planning that I would use Black and White and Colour throughout my music video, with advice from my lecturers they have advised me to have the video all in colour. However, I gained feedback from others I have converted my video from Black and White to Colour, and the feedback I have gathered said that they were confused with the plot, and when I have mentioned that the narrative of the video, they had advised me to have Black and White featured in my music video, so audiences are able to differentiate which scenes are the flashback and which scenes are the present.

The same feedback also occured on my Print Productions (see this post) I planned to have the continuation of the Black and White theme, not just in my music video but also in my Print Productions, but however, when I showed the prototype of my Digipak to my lecturer and other students, if the Black and White would appeal to their taste, and if they would buy the album, the majority said "No" and that the colour version would appeal more to them.

The majority of the demographic that I have asked were female, however I did ask some male audiences to fill in the surveys.

The response from both Demographics were unanimously the same. The majority of the audiences gave a positive feedback for my Print productions, all of the people I have asked, has rated the overall package a 3 or above.
However, the reception for my music video were more mixed to positive from the demographics, t

  1. To strengthen:

1)Your final comment indicates you need to narrow your potential target audience.

    2) Overall your response to this question is rather light, this is possibly because you need to interview somebody whilst they copy out the questionnaire I gave you.

3)Print productions which you haven't included re feedback.

    4) Endeavour to get more detailed feedback re camera angles, locations, editing etc. You could use your i-pad for this (do a video interview).

At present a mainly basic response, and well done for including media theory.
