Print Screns of Work in progress (as of 30/01/2013)

This is the screenshot of progression of what I have done as of today (30/01/2013) I've done a lot of revisions for my Digi-Pak today and I am still progressing as I am making changes to the 2nd and 3rd Panel as I have decided to ditch my intitial idea of having the panoramic shot on the 2nd and the 3rd panel.

Font Used for Digipak and Magazine Advert

The Font I have chosen to use is  "Charlemange Std" in Bold the Size would depend on which panel.

In Panel One, which, usually has the name of the artist is at the front of the panel, in order to make the font appealing for audiences to consume, I put the name of the artist at the bottom left of the panel as the focus of the picture is steered towards that direction.

In the 4th Panel, the size of the fonts were decreased, in order to put the focus of the panel to the artist.

In the Magazine Advert, the name of the artist is clearly shown to be in a larger size, because the purpose of it was to promote the artist, and therefore it stands out, the other information to promote the artist such as reviews and social networking information, because the main focus is on Aleka.

Changes to DigiPak

This is more changes to my DigiPak I've numbered the tracklsiting in order to avoid confusion with the songs. I've changed the positions of the artist names and the album title because of the eyeflow of the picture and therefore the focus of the picture would be on the artist.

I've also ditched my initial plans of having a panoramic shot of the beach in my second and third panel. I had other photots I haven't been able to use from the video shoot with kirsty and Billie. On the second panel I decided to have a thank you message to show the artists appreciation to her fans and their support from them.

I am currently undecided on what to put in my 3rd panel, I have had a look at other possibilities such as:
  • Use another photo from my video shoot
  • Use a screenshot from my music video
My teachers have advised me to use both Billie and Kirsty on the 3rd panel

Colour Version of Digi-Pak

Due to advise form my teacher and other Media students, I also tried to have a colour version of my Digi-Pak to show the difference between the two. These are the results after converting them to Black and white

Format of Digi-Pak

My 4-Panel Digipak would be the same as any albums. The lyrics of the Lead Single on the 2nd Panel, the 3rd panel would have a background where the CD is located and the 4th panel would of course consist of the tracklisting and the logo of the record label etc.

Final Cut of You Are Everywhere

This is the final version of my music video You Are Everywhere by Aleka Javadi

Hope you guys like it

Images used for Digi-Pak

Panel 1 - I am planning to have it in Black and White, with the artist's credential (Artist's Name and Album Title) I would change the size of the photo as ifI changed the size of the photo the photo would looked stretched (as shown in my previous post)

Panel 2 and 3 - I planned to continue the theme of Black and White throughout the Digi-Pak, I used this panoramic shot of cromer Beach, as it shows a contradiuction of what the mood/theme is for the Music Video of You Are Everywhere she is in a place where her happy memories exist and now she is in a depressive mood and she feels alienated because everyone around her is happy.

Panel 4 - In Black and White. This panel would include the Album Title along with the tracklisting. The tracklisting I chose consists of songs of heartbreak etc with a barcode and a record label's logo.

More Prototype of Digipak

Today, I decided to play around with Photoshop and created more prototypes of my album cover, here is some of the protoypes I have done, it took me a bit of time to get used to Photoshop so the photo is a bit stretched, due to my lack of experience in using photoshop.

Prototype of Album Cover and Tracklist

After advise from my teacher to avoid using scriptive font for my album artwork and track listing, because some scriptures couldn't be read, so I decided to make a prototype using just plain fonts instead. This is just a prototype, and I would still use effects and possibly change the font and size used.

Draft 1 of Digipak

In one of our lessons, our teacher made us create a draft of our 4 panel Digi-Pak in a short amount of time. Please Note that the pictures are just a draft and my plans could still change in due course.

Ideas for Digipak

I have been looking at a few artwork of a few artists for my Digipak, and have come at a few that I like and would fit in my with my Print Productions. I have had a look at some artists that I connected with e.g. Cheryl Cole, the artwork of her debut album 3 Words, what I liked about the artwork is the font used to write the information of the album.

I've had a looking at other artist that influence the artist, such as Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Queen etc.

With the artworks I have researched, the artworks always feature the artist because the focus would be on them, with my artwork I am planning to not only have focus on the artist but also have the artist in a naturalistic environment to show how a person being in a different environment would have an impact on their emotions and on the songs in the album.

The album artwork also shows how the use of effects can have an impact on how the songs and genre the artist is, take Celine Dion for example, the artwork for her album Unison shows heartbreak and the use of the black and white effect signifies pain from past romantic experiences etc.
