The reason I have chosen these two actresses to star in my music video is because I have had a good working relationship with both of them, with the success of my AS Thriller Opening "Come Walk with Me". Kirsty and Billie are really good friends, and one way this could be a benefit for my music video, is because the song is about loss, it could be a loss of Friendship. I'm still currently filming (as of 03/10/2012) my music video, so the narrative structure could still change.
I like your enthusiastic commentary about your progress. I agree that you should use a wider variety of shots and angles, though you are not filming a thriller look at the shower sequence in Psycho and note how Hitchcock uses the camera with closeups of Marions hands, eyes, the water and so on. You could also get some close up shots of waves rolling into the shore, and remember the rule of thirds when shooting the artist.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work Tim, and remember to use media language, for example transitions, aspects of mise-en-scene, use of ambient lighting and your purpose (to connote realism), narrative structure for how you're going to sequence the action, aspects of genre and so on. And never hesitate to reference Goodwin's theory when appropriate in any future video diaries.
